WebSphere HATS

IBM WebSphere HATS enables every 3270 or 5250 Application to be a Webapplication. Using Macros and Wizzards makes it easy to create the basic application by just clicking through some screens. After changing one of the provided Stylsheetsinside the development platform to the corporate identity, a basic 1:1 representation in HTML is just a matter of minutes.
Several provided macros let a developer to change from a typical 3270/5250 Menu into either a Drop-Down Menu or a Radio-Button driven Menu. Using this technology, it is not visible to the end user that this is a good old legacy application.

As a Beta Tester for Version 5 and 6 of IBM WebSphere HATS we have seen the improvements for this product. Features like "BMS Map Converter" are helpful in increasing the acceptance of these"Screen Scraping Technologies".
Because the migration into a WebApplication is done with the IBM WebSphere Development Tool, it is pretty easy to get information from the legacy application combined with other data or to provide this application as a WebService.
The finally developed application runs under IBM WebSphere Application Server without any issues.
Should a 3270 or 5250 Application moved into a WebApplication, IBM WebSphere HATS is first choice.
